BAISEL NAMED STUDENT-ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

PETERSBURG, Va., (Aug. 31, 2015) -- For his three goals against NAIA Bluefield College last Wednesday evening, sophomore forward Godfred Baisel has been named the Richard Bland College Student-Athlete of the Week. 

Baisel, from Cape Coast, Ghana, netted two of his three goals in the first half to help the Statesmen build a 3-0 lead at intermission. He now has 25 goals in his Richard Brand career, most in school history.

After freshman winger Lorenzo Romero (Manassas, VA/Stonewall Jackson) opened the scoring for Richard Bland against Bluefield, Baisel took over the game offensively, scoring three of the Statesmen's next four goals. 

"Godfred had a great game," said Richard Brand head coach Eduardo de Souza.

Baisel is a 2014 graduate of Patriot High School in Nokesville, VA.
