Thirty-Six Student-Athletes Named To AD's Academic Excellence List

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, Va. -- Richard Bland College Director of Athletics Chuck Moore has announced that 36 student-athletes have been named to the AD's Academic Excellence List for the 2017 Fall Semester.  These outstanding individuals from four different Statesmen sports programs attained a semester grade point average of 3.0 or better.

"Every semester it is always my proudest moment to announce the AD's Academic Excellence List!" said Moore.  "The commitment these student-athletes have shown on the fields/courts and in the classroom is exceptional.  I'm honored to be the AD of a program that has so many unbelievably talented student-athletes, especially those that are excelling in the classroom.  Our motto is 'Nothing Less Than Excellence' and these student-athletes are a living proof of that quote."

The sport-by-sport breakdown included 15 from men's soccer, eight from both softball and women's volleyball, and six from men's basketball.  Ten of the student-athletes attained a GPA of 4.00, while eight others attained a GPA of 3.50 or higher.  One student-athlete participates in two sports at Richard Bland (softball and women's volleyball).
