RICHARD BLAND ATHLETICS WELL REPRESENTED AT FCA CHARITY DINNER

COLONIAL HEIGHTS, Va., (March 8, 2016) – As Richard Bland College Collee Athletics eased into Spring Break, student-athletes and department administrators attended the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) Charity Dinner at the at Colonial Heights Baptist Church in Colonial Heights, Va.

Student-athletes representing the department were freshman Rodrigo Carvalho (pictured second from left, sophomore Leonard Oballa, who are shown alongside Harry Sydow and Richard Bland College President Debbie L. Sydow, Ph.D.

Representing the department at the charity dinner was Director of Athletics Chuck Moore, Assistant Director of Athletics Preston Beverly, Coordinator of Athletics Development & Special Events Danish Saadat, and head men’s soccer coach Eduardo de Souza, who serves as the FCA liaison. FCA Board members Michael and Ralph Shiver were on hand as well, with Michael Shriver serving as the evening speaker.

Shriver spoke passionately about the positive impact the FCA has on Richard Bland College student-athletes. The FCA conducts monthly meetings the first Tuesday of the month, which has a dinner function open to all RBC student-athletes. The FCA generously prepares pre-game meals for RBC teams and every two weeks Statesmen athletes are provided “food bank” donations.
