Bio

Timara Jones is in her second year as Cheerleading Coach at Richard Bland College of William & Mary during 2017-18.  She joined the Statesmen in August 2016.

Jones also serves as a full-time Learner Mentor at Richard Bland. Her duties include, but are not limited to, working with students to develop successful academic plans, supportive counseling and career coaching.

Jones brings 17 years of cheerleading and dance experience to the Statesmen Cheerleading program. Prior to joining Richard Bland College, she cheered for three years with the Virginia Competitive Cheerleading team at the University of Virginia. As president of the team's executive board, Jones managed the organization and execution of competitions and practices, choreography, fundraising and team activities.

A native to the area, she is a graduate of Dinwiddie County Public Schools and a former dual-enrollment student at Richard Bland. Jones was a three year varsity letterman cheerleader for the Generals and captain of both her competition and sideline teams. She was also an all-star cheerleader with the Platinum Cheer Stars.

Jones earned her Master of Science in Education degree in Counseling from Old Dominion University. She also has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Virginia.
