#10 RICHARD BLAND POWERS PAST POTOMAC STATE-WV TO EXTEND WINNING STREAK TO EIGHT

PETERSBURG, VA, January 19, 2014- The Richard Bland College Statesmen were able to pull away from a feisty Potomac State squad to win 92-78. The Catamounts fell to 6-6 on the season and the nations leading scorer Reggie Baker to 16 points, 11 below his average.

The Statesmen were led in scoring by Tavon Mealy with 20 points and 14 rebounds, he was followed by teammate Melvin Gregory who registered his fourth consecutive double-double with 19 points and 14 rebounds, Micah Thomas had 15 points, Lequan Thomas scored13 points while Brian Adkins added 10 points off the bench. The Catamounts' Reggie Baker came into the game averaging 27.8 points finished with 16, while Marcus Banks led the visitors with 18.

The next game will feature the #10 Statesmen will host the #2 Hurricanes of Louisburg College on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 with a tip-off at 6:00 pm.
