#1 STATESMEN ROLLS TO 16th STRAIGHT WIN OVER LANCERS

PETERSBURG, VA, February 18, 2014- Freshman guard Micah Thomas (Richmond, VA/Highland Springs HS) scored 26 points to lead the Statesmen over Lenoir Community College 99-75.

Richard Bland (24-1, 13-1 Region X) never trailed during the game and raced out to a 21 point lead at the intermission as the Lancers could not keep up with the nations leading team. Micah Thomas connected on five three point field goals enroute to notching 26 points, Tavon Mealy added 16 points, Marquis Powell scored 12 points, and Avery Ugba tossed in 11 points for the Statesmen. Gabriel Strathern and Jeremy Smith had 19 and 17 points respectively for the visitors.

The Statesmen will travel to Martinsville, VA to take on Patrick Henry Community College for a 6:00 pm tip-off.
