#4 STATESMEN DROPS FINAL REGULAR SEASON GAME TO #8 HURRICANES

LOUISBURG, NC, March 1, 2014-Richard Bland College faced the Louisburg College Hurricanes for the  regular season championship finale, falling 96-73.

Melvin Gregory and Micah Thomas led the Statesmen offensively with 22 and 14 points respectively. Trayvonte Brown added nine, while Jeremy Saunders and Avery Ugba each scored eight points in the contest. Ugba had 14 rebounds and Gregory pulled down eight boards. The Hurricanes were led by Trey Brown who scored 26 points and Marcus Freeman tossed in 20 points to go along with 11 rebounds.

The Statesmen finish the season with a record 26-3 and will prepare for the Region X conference tournament next week at Catawba Valley Community College on Friday, March 6, 2014 at 5:00 pm.
