No. 11 RICHARD BLAND TRAVELS TO WAKE TECH

PETERSBURG, Va. – The No. 11 Richard Bland men's basketball team travels to Raleigh, N.C. on Tuesday, Nov. 18, looking to capture its fifth straight win against conference foe Wake Tech Community College. The contest is set to begin at 7 p.m.

Both teams met a total of three times during last season with the Statesmen winning the first match-up (77-70) before dropping at home (69-55) and (74-73) in the Region X Semi-Finals.

The Statesmen (4-0) are coming off (72-69) win of Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute in the Region X Blast-Off Tournament.

Tavon Mealy (Richmond, Va.) led with 16 points while snatching six rebounds, Melvin Gregory (Weems, Va.) chipped in 12 points and seven rebounds while Reginald Moses (Henrico, Va.) added 10 points off the bench.

Overall, Mealy leads a very balanced scoring attack this season. He averages a team high 22.2 ppg, while Avery Ugba (Silver Springs, Md.) averages 11.0 ppg and Moses follows with 10.2 ppg. 

The Eagles enter the game at 2-1 after a win over USC-Salkehatchie (76-67). This match-up marks the first conference game for both teams.
