RBC HOOPS BACK AT STATESMAN HALL TO FACE USC SALKEHATCHIE

PETERSBURG, Va. – The No. 11 Richard Bland men's basketball team will battle on the hardwood Saturday, Nov. 22nd as the Statesmen looks to continue its five-game winning streak in a clash against USC Salkehatchie, two schools off to great young season.

The 3 p.m. tilt at Statesman Hall will offer live statistics on www.rbcatheltics.com, with Steve "Da Truth" Nugent and Jerrett Brown providing courtside commentary on Fox Sports Radio 1340 am.

Big performances by experienced veterans propelled Richard Bland to a 94-66 win against Wake Tech on Tuesday. Tavon Mealy (Richmond, VA) led the Statesmen with 18 points, while Avery Ugba (Silver Springs, MD) added 16. LeQuan Thomas (Virginia Beach, VA) recorded his first double-digit of the season in the assist column with 10.

The Statesmen used superior physicality to get buckets as they managed to collect 42 points inside the paint, shooting 90-percent from the free throw line. The Statesmen controlled the boards, holding a 39-26 advantage in the rebounding column.

USC Salkehatchie enters the contest off a 6-1 start on the season. The Indians dropped a 78-67 decision to Wake Tech on Saturday but before they arrive onto RBC territory, they will face Southside Community College on Friday.

This is the first meeting between both two teams since RBC's athletic program has been reinstated just one year ago.

This contest will be in honor of Mark "Coach" Bryan, former athletic director at Richard Bland College. The Statesmen are privileged to dedicate this game and recognize cancer survivors, those battling cancer while in hopes to keep Mark Bryan's legacy ongoing at RBC.
