No. 9 RICHARD BLAND FACES CATAWBA VALLEY

PETERSBURG, Va. – Ninth-ranked Richard Bland welcomes Catawba Valley to Statesman Hall on Saturday, Dec. 6th in its fourth Region X match-up on the season. The game will provide live stats and audio on www.rbcathletics.com and http://radio.securenetsystems.net/v5/WHAP. Tip-off is slated for 3 p.m.

The Statesmen (8-0 overall, 3-0 Region X) are coming off an impressive win over Tidewater, 92-64 on Wednesday night in front of 249 fans.

RBC had four players in double-figures: sophomore Tavon Mealy (Richmond, Va.) with 19 points, sophomore Brian Adkins (Aberdeen, Md.) with season-high 11 points, while sophomore Melvin Gregory (Weems, Va.) and freshman Reginald Moses (Henrico, Va.) both charted 10 points each.

The Statesmen tie their winning-streak with last season's 8-0 start, with hopes of breaking that record with a win on Saturday to improve 9-0, becoming the best start on a regular season since the program has been reinstated.

Looking to snap the winning-streak are the Red Hawks of Catawba Valley who enter the contest after suffering a setback to Spartanburg Methodist in an 87-67 decision on Wednesday.

The Red Hawks is 4-5 overall, 1-0 in Region X play.

Saturday marks the second game (RBC Dance Showcase) of homecoming week for the Statesmen with special performances by Fame and High Definition, two organizations on campus.
