No. 5 RBC HOOPS STARTS NEW YEAR IN ALABAMA
PETERSBURG, Va. – The Richard Bland College men's basketball team ring in the New Year on Friday evening in a contest against Snead State Community College in the 2015 Comfort Suites New Years Tip-Off. The No. 5 Statesmen will travel to Hanceville, Alabama to face the Parsons for a 6 p.m. start.
The Statesmen enter the contest undefeated with an 11-0 overall record after a commanding 92-75 decision over Guilford Technical Community College on Dec. 13.
RBC is currently enjoying an eleven-game win streak, the best start since the program has been reinstated.
Under the direction of head coach Jay Welborn, Snead State stands 2-7 on the season after dropping a 77-74 decision to Northeast Mississippi Community College on Dec. 12.
The Parsons is a member of the Alabama Community College Conference (ACCC) and the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region XXII.
The contest will be the first match-up between both teams.
