No. 6 STATESMEN AND PATRIOTS CLASH WEDNESDAY IN REGION X SHOWDOWN

PETERSBURG, Va. – The No. 6 Richard Bland men's basketball team look to build on the momentum of back-to-back wins against Pitt and Tidewater when it heads to Martinsville, Va. to face the Patriots of Patrick Henry Community College on Wednesday, Jan. 28.

Tip for the contest is set for 7 p.m. Fans can follow Twitter updates on @GoRBCStatesmen.

Chuck Moore's squad heads to Patrick Henry 18-2 overall, 10-1 in league play following a dominating 99-59 road win against conference foe Tidewater Saturday.

Freshman Reginald Moses (Henrico) led the Statesmen with game-high 25 points to go along with six rebounds following sophomore Evan Bates (Cosby) who scored a season-high 24 points while grabbing six rebounds. Sophomore Tavon Mealy (Armstrong) also chipped in 10 points.

The Statesmen looks to continue the stellar defense that held the last foe to below 33 percent from the field.  RBC allows 39.0 percent shooting from the floor, that tally includes 31.0 percent from 3-point defense.

Richard Bland meet Patrick Henry's squad that is 10-5 overall and 7-1 in league play following an 80-64 victory at Guilford Tech on Monday night.

Jashad Jamison paces the Patriots at 13.0 points per game to go with 10.4 rebounds per contest.

Following Wednesday's showdown, RBC returns to Statesman Hall Saturday to close the month of January play against Guilford Tech.
