STATESMEN SET FOR NON-CONFERENCE FINALE AT BRUNSWICK

PETERSBURG, Va. – After reaching its 20th victory on the season for the second consecutive season, the Statesmen look to continue its winning ways as they hit the road on Wednesday, Feb. 4th for a non-conference road game against Brunswick Community College. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m.

 

This will be the first meeting between Richard Bland and Brunswick this season.

 

Richard Bland enters the contest with a 20-3 overall record. The Statesmen topped Vance-Granville Community College in its last outing with Brian Adkins (Aberdeen, MD) leading the way with career-high 19 points.

 

Two players scored double-digits in more than one category, including Tavon Mealy (Armstrong) who netted 18 points while grabbing 10 rebounds and Reginald Moses (Henrico) who posted 12 points to go along with 10 assists. The win improved the Statesmen home record to 9-0 on the year.

 

The Dolphins welcome Richard Bland with a 10-13 overall record. Brunswick is coming off a 104-82 loss to Clinton Junior College on Jan. 25. Jacques Chambers is the team's leading scorer, averaging 14.9 points per game while Carson Smith and Jaquan Grissett adds 11.4 and 10.6 ppg, respectively.
