MOORE NAMED NABC JUCO UPS COACH OF THE YEAR

KANSAS CITY, Mo.  – Head Coach Chuck Moore of Richard Bland College was honored with another national award on Monday, June 1, 2015, when he was named the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) "UPS Coach of the Year" for Junior Colleges.

Moore led the Statesmen to a National Championship in its first appearance in the NJCAA National Tournament after winning the Region X Tournament for the first time since over 20 years. Moore has recorded 59 victories in two years as head coach at Richard Bland, including 32 victories this past season – RBC record for most wins in a single-season.

"It's an honor to be recognized by NABC which is what majority of all collegiate coaches are a member of," said Moore. "I could not have received this award without my assistant coaches and my team."

The award dates back to 1984 when legendary Bill Alheim of Miami Dade Community College was the first recipient and now Moore will be the first coach of the Region X DII conference to accompany Alheim and others with this prestigious award.
