ROAD TESTED: STATESMEN TRAVEL TO LENOIR FOR WEDNESDAY GAME

PETERSBURG, Va., (Nov. 17, 2015) – The extensive early season road swing continues for the Richard Bland College men's basketball team as it travels to Kingston, North Carolina on Wednesday evening to face Lenoir Community College at 7 p.m.

The Statesmen (3-3) will be playing their sixth straight road game and in terms of experience, may hold the edge on Wednesday night despite having a roster with just one sophomore. Richard Bland has six games under its belt, while Lenoir has played just one game this season, an 81-71 loss to Catawba Community College last Saturday.  Richard Bland has won the last two meetings against Lenoir, a 95-78 victory on January 26, 2014 and a 99-77 victory on February 6, 2015.
 
HALF DOZEN GAMES: With six games played already, Richard Bland has logged the 14th most in NJCAA Division II.
 

WHAT'S NEXT: Following tonight's game, Richard Bland will travel to Sandhills, N.C. to face Caldwell Community College in the Region X Blastoff at 6 p.m, a three-day showcase of all the teams in the region … Lenoir competes against Caldwell in the same event on Saturday.

60 PLUS AND COUNTING: Just six games into his third season at Richard Bland, Moore has compiled a 62-12 (.838) record … He earned win No. 60 in the season opener against Frederick Community College (81-59).
 

FOUR IN DOUBLE FIGURES: The Statesmen boast four players scoring in double figures, led by sophomore Troy Gibson (15.0 ppg), freshman Deandre Clark (12.7 ppg), freshman Jordan Griggs (11.0 ppg) and freshman Myles Markland (10.5 ppg).

SOPHOMORE LEADERSHIP: Gibson, the lone returner from last year's championship team, has scored in double figures in five of six games this season, including a career-best 25 points against Harcum College.
 

CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARDS: With an average of 7.2 rebounds per game, Gibson leads the Statesmen in rebounding … He has had 10 or more rebounds in three games this season, including a career-best 12 boards against Harcum.

MR. CONSISTENCY: Freshman Myles Markland has scored in double figures in five of six games this season, his only non-double figures game coming against Chipola College last Saturday.
 

SHOCK BLOCKERS: With an average of 6.0 blocks per game, RBC ranks 8th best in the country in NJCAA Division II.

LEADER OF THE BLOCK: Freshman Jaquan Wooten, who was named the RBC Student-Athlete of the Week on Monday, leads the Statesmen in blocks, averaging 2.7 per game, fifth in NJCAA Division II … RBC had a season best nine blocks against Harcum.
 

VIRGINIA STRONG: Ten of the players on the RBC roster hail from Virginia.

OVERSEAS INFLUENCE: Two freshmen Statesmen players have traveled thousands of miles to play in Petersburg … Karol Kott hails from Przypki Poland and Nikola Lakic comes from Belgrade, Serbia.
