RBC BASKETBALL: LEARNING ON AND OFF THE COURT
PETERSBURG, Va., (Nov. 18, 2015) – As much as head men's basketball coach Chuck Moore enjoys being on the court teaching and coaching his players, he is intensely committed to creating a well-rounded student-athlete experience for the Statesmen basketball team and all RBC athletes.
Moore has been bringing his team to the Peter Paul Development Center since he became RBC's head coach. The Statesmen players interact with boys and girls, mixing basketball fun with educational support with reading, writing and math.
During the teams trip to play in the Wolverine Classic hosted by Essex County College in Newark, NJ., the Statesmen made a life changing trip to visit the 9/11 Memorial & Museum at the World Trade Center in New York City.
"It was a powerful experience for our team to visit, learn and absorb the details surrounding the tragedy that took place on 9/11," said Moore. "I know for myself, our coaching staff and team, we were humbled by our visit to the memorial and blessed to be able to tour the World Trade Center during our trip up North."
