MEN'S BASKETBALL AND CITY OF PETERSBURG PARTNER ON CANNED FOOD DRIVE

PETERSBURG, Va., (Feb. 2, 2016) -- The City of Petersburg and Richard Bland College have partnered with The Hope Center to collect canned goods for the local Petersburg area.

On Feb. 23, 2016, the Statesmen and City of Petersburg will celebrate Community Pride Day. All fans who bring canned food, dry food or peanut butter will receive free admission to the men's basketball game against Bryant & Stratton at 7:00 p.m. at Statesmen Hall. Adding to the festivities at the game will be a celebration of the teams four sophomore players prior to tip-off.

"We are excited to be partnering with the City of Petersburg to help collect canned and dry foods for those in need at The Hope Center," said Chuck Moore, Director of Athletics and head men's basketball coach at Richard Bland College. "Being a strong community partner is very important to our college and we are thrilled we can partner with the city in this very important endeavor. We look forward to having a great crowd that night."
