STATESMEN HEAD TO NO. 12 NATIONALLY RANKED LOUISBURG ON WEDNESDAY
PETERSBURG, Va., (Feb. 9, 2016) – A challenging stretch of games continues for the Richard Bland College men's basketball team, which travels to No. 12 nationally-ranked Louisburg College on Wednesday evening in Region X Conference action.

AGAINST LOUISBURG: Since bringing back basketball three years ago, the Statesmen and Hurricanes have had a spirited rivalry the last three seasons, with each team winning three games … The Statesmen earned the biggest of their three wins in the Region X Conference Championship game last season, defeating Louisburg on its own court, 80-77, to win the title en route to copping the NJCAA Division II National Championship.
DISTRIBUTING THE BALL: In his last six games, Dean McBride has accounted for 54 assists, an average of 9.0 per game.
CAPTAIN GIBSON: Gibson is in the midst of scoring in double figures in 11 straight games and has had 21 double figures scoring efforts this season … In his consistent sophomore season, Gibson has registered six games with double figures in rebounding and has six double-doubles … Gibson currently has scored 461 career points and at his current pace would reach 500 points against Brunswick Community College on Feb. 14.
WHAT'S NEXT: The Statesmen return home for a pair of non-conference games against Potomac State (WV) on Saturday, Feb. 13 at 4 p.m., which is Tri-Cities Youth Game on campus … The game is free for all Tri-Cities youth accompanied by one adult ... Potomac is currently ranked No. 15 in the nation in NJCAA Divison II ...
