OUR SAVIOUR LUTHERAN STAR HICKS TO JOIN STATESMEN BASKETBALL

PETERSBURG, Va., (April 26, 2016) – Ricky Hicks, a 6-foot guard from the Bronx, N.Y. who starred at Our Saviour Lutheran School this past season, has signed a National Letter of Intent to play his intercollegiate basketball at Richard Bland College next season.

Hicks, who played on the varsity at Our Saviour Lutheran School for three seasons, led his team to a 20-10 record playing an independent national schedule his senior season. He averaged 18 points and eight assists for the Falcons this season. He scored more than 1,000 points in his storied scholastic career.

"Ricky is a tough, cerebral point guard who has tremendous quickness and speed," said Richard Bland head coach Chuck Moore. "His vision and pinpoint passing make him a phenomenal distributor and facilitator."

As a junior, Hicks averaged 15 points and six assists. He began his career on the varsity in dramatic fashion, averaging 18 points and four assists on a team that compiled a 20-5 record.

Hicks will be joining a Statesmen program that captured the 2015 NJCAA Division II National Championship under Moore, who was named to NJCAA National Coach of the Year.
