Richard Bland Ranked No. 8 In This Week's NJCAA Division II Poll

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, Va. -- Richard Bland College is ranked No. 8 in this week's NJCAA Division II Men's Basketball Poll, as released on Tuesday afternoon.  The nationally-ranked Statesmen are currently 21-4 overall, including 13-2 in Region 10, with eight wins in their last nine games, and 17 wins in their last 19 games played.  Richard Bland is scheduled to host region and in-state rival Patrick Henry Community College on Wednesday, February 15 at 7 p.m.

Richard Bland remained among the Top 10 for the eighth consecutive week, but did drop three spots from last week's No. 5 ranking after splitting two games this past week.  The Statesmen won 104-82 at home past CCBC Dundalk (Md.) on Feb. 12, following a 78-71 setback to Region 10 archrival and previously No. 6 Louisburg (N.C.) College on Feb. 8.  The Hurricanes (21-3) are ranked No. 5 this week.

Triton (Ill.) College (24-1) is ranked No. 1 this week, up from its No. 3 ranking a week ago, after last week's No. 1 Southwestern (Iowa) (32-1) dropped its first game of the season.
