Richard Bland Ranked No. 8 In This Week's NJCAA Division II Poll

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, Va. -- Richard Bland College is ranked No. 8 in this week's NJCAA Division II Men's Basketball Poll, as released on Tuesday afternoon.  The nationally-ranked Statesmen are currently 25-4 overall, completing their regular season 17-2 in Region 10, with five-straight wins and 12 wins in the last 13 games played.  Richard Bland is the No. 2 seed for the 2017 Region 10 Tournament and will play either No. 7 Guilford Technical (N.C.) Community College (10-19, 7-13) or No. 10 Vance-Granville (N.C.) Community College (5-24, 2-18) in a quarterfinal contest on Sunday, March 5 at 4 p.m. at Statesman Hall. 

Richard Bland remained among the Top 10 for the 10^th consecutive week, up one spot from last week's No. 9 ranking, following a pair of home wins last week.  The Statesmen won 101-71 past Vance-Granville on February 22, and 94-86 past Wake Technical (N.C.) Community College on Feb. 25.  Fellow Region 10 member and archrival Louisburg (N.C.) College (25-3) is ranked No. 3 nationally this week, and is the No. 1 seed for the upcoming Region 10 Tournament.

Southwestern (Iowa) Community College (27-1) is ranked No. 1 in NJCAA Division II this week.
