SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, Va. -- Richard Bland College sophomore Jaquan Wooten/Kinston, North Carolina was selected to the 2016-17 All-Region 10 Men's Basketball First Team, while classmates Gevon Arrington/Petersburg and Deandre Clark/Orange were each named to the All-Region 10 Second Team.

"It's always great to have our student-athletes recognized by the region for all of their hard work and success on the court," said fourth-year head coach Chuck Moore.  "These three sophomores are well deserving of all the recognition that they receive."

Wooten, a 6-9 center, has started all 29 games during the regular season and averaged 12.9 points, 9.8 rebounds, 2.8 blocks and 22.4 minutes.  He has shot 66% (146-222) from the field and 50% (81-161) at the free throw line, adding 26 steals and 18 assists, while the team leader in points (373), scoring average, field goals, free throws, free throw attempts, rebounds (283), rebounding average, offensive rebounds (125), defensive rebounds (158) and blocks.  Wooten posted career-highs of 42 points (18-22 FGs, 6-9 FTs) and 17 rebounds vs.  Wake Technical (N.C.) on February 25, the 42 points a new program record since Richard Bland reinstated basketball in 2013.  He has a team-best 19 double-figure scoring games, 13 double-figure rebounding games and 11 double-doubles.  Wooten ranks fourth nationally in field goal percentage, fifth in blocks and 20th in rebounding.

Arrington, a 6-3 guard, has started all 29 games and averaged 12.3 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 24.7 minutes.  He has shot 50% (131-262) from the field, including 37% (35-96) on three-point field goals, and 74% (61-82) at the line, adding 32 steals and seven blocks, while the team leader in free throw percentage and minutes (717).  Arrington posted a career-high 22 points (9-15 FGs, 2-5 3FGs, 2-3 FTs) vs. CCBC Dundalk (Md.) on Feb. 12.  He has a team-best 19 double-figure scoring games, including a team-best five 20-point games, and one double-double. 

Clark, a 6-4 guard, has started 26 of 27 games and averaged 12.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 24.6 minutes.  He has shot 40% (121-303) from the field, including 33% (69-208) on three-pointers, and 57% (24-42) at the line, adding 41 steals, while the team leader in field goal attempts, three-pointers and three-point attempts.  Clark posted a season-high 23 points vs. Valley Forge (Pa.) (8-18 FGs, 7-14 3FGs) on November 4, 2016 and vs. CCBC Dundalk (Md.) (9-15 FGs, 4-10 3FGs, 1-1 FT) on Feb. 12.  He has 17 double-figure scoring games, including a team-best five 20-point games.  Clark ranks in a tie for 45th nationally in three-pointers.

Pitt (N.C.) Community College sophomore guard Jaiquan Manning (15.4 points, 8.0 assists) was selected as the Region 10 Player of the Year, while Louisburg (N.C.) College (25-3) head coach Neil Dixon was named the Coach of the Year.  Manning, Wooten and Troy Locke (13.8 points, 5.6 rebounds) of Louisburg were designated as the region's All-American nominations.
