Richard Bland Ranked No. 8 In Final NJCAA Division II Poll

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, Va. -- Richard Bland College is ranked No. 8 in this week's final NJCAA Division II Men's Basketball Poll for 2016-17, as released on Tuesday afternoon.  The nationally-ranked Statesmen are currently 26-4 overall, including six-straight wins, and 13 wins in the last 14 games played.  Richard Bland, the No. 2 seed in the 2017 Region 10 Tournament, will play No. 3 Patrick Henry Community College (17-10) in a semifinal contest on Friday, March 10 at 6 p.m. in Pinehurst, North Carolina.

Richard Bland remained at No. 8 and among the Top 10 for the 11th consecutive week, following a 108-52 Region 10 Tournament quarterfinal victory past Vance-Granville (N.C.) Community College on March 5 at Statesman Hall.  Region 10 regular-season champion and archrival Louisburg (N.C.) College (26-3) is ranked No. 3 nationally this week, and is the No. 1 seed in the Region 10 Tournament.  The Hurricanes will play No. 5 Bryant & Stratton (17-13) in the other semifinal game on Friday, March 10 at 4 p.m. at Sandhills Community College.
