Richard Bland Head Coach Chuck Moore Serves As Guest Speaker At Recent PGC/Glazier Basketball Coaching Clinic In Dallas

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, Va. -- Richard Bland College fifth-year men's basketball head coach Chuck Moore served as a guest speaker at The PGC/Glazier Basketball Coaching Clinic September 29-October 1 in Dallas, Texas.  He was among college coaches from Texas A&M, Rice, Ohio State, Oral Roberts, Oklahoma Wesleyan, Texas-Tyler and Emmanuel College who presented during the three-day event.  Coach Moore spoke on four different topics in Dallas, including Guarding Ball Screens, Efficient Practice Plans, Special Teams Situations: SLOB & BLOB as well as Transition Offense: Flow Into Motion Offense

"It was honor to be asked to speak for a prestigious organization like PGC/Glazier," said Moore.  "Their clinics are set up for coaches to learn and gain new knowledge and I appreciate the fact that they gave me an opportunity to give back to other coaches."

Coach Moore has led Richard Bland to a four-year record of 104-31 (.770) since men's basketball was reinstated at the College in 2013, including the 2015 NJCAA Division II National Championship.  The Statesmen are an even more impressive 51-8 (.864) at home over the past four seasons.  Moore led Richard Bland to an overall record of 30-6 during 2016-17, including the District 15, Region 10 Tournament Championship after completing the Region 10 regular season as runners-up with a record of 17-2.  The Statesmen concluded their second NJCAA DII National Tournament appearance in three years with a fourth-place finish among 123 NJCAA DII programs.  Moore was named the 2017 NJCAA Division II, District 15 Coach of the Year, and following the National Championship season, he was named the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) National Junior College Coach of the Year, an award that encompassed all JUCO Divisions, the Spalding NJCAA Division II Coach of the Year and the NJCAA District 6 Coach of the Year.

PGC (formerly known as Point Guard College) and Glazier Clinics have teamed up to provide a new kind of basketball coaching clinics.  Their priorities focus on featuring successful, experienced coaches and include more than 80 sessions at each basketball coaching clinic, including sessions on offense, defense, strength and conditioning and more. In addition, the clinics offer practicality as speakers are asked to deliver only real, useable strategies.
