No. 12 Richard Bland Earns Road Win At Lenoir (N.C.) 90-66

KINSTON, N.C. – Sophomore Deon Joyner/North Charleston, South Carolina and redshirt-freshman Tyler Lloyd/Manassas each scored 14 points to lead No. 12 Richard Bland College to a 90-66 Region 10 men's basketball road win at Lenoir (N.C.) Community College on Saturday afternoon in Kinston, North Carolina.  Sophomore Tim Bing Jr./Suitland, Maryland added 13 points, while classmate Stanley Taylor/Petersburg had a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds for the visiting and nationally-ranked Statesmen (11-4, 5-2 Region 10).  Brandon Kelson scored 18 points for the host Lancers (4-10, 2-6 Region 10).  Richard Bland will host archrival and nationally-ranked No. 15 Louisburg (N.C.) College on Wednesday, January 17, at 7 p.m. in Statesman Hall during Homecoming 2018.

Richard Bland led 44-34 at halftime against Lenoir, before outscoring the Lancers 46-32 during the second half to provide for the final margin.

Joyner and Lloyd led Richard Bland with their respective 14 points, and Joyner added five rebounds.  Bing contributed his 13 points, adding six rebounds and four assists.  Taylor finished with his 11 points and 10 rebounds for his fourth double-double, adding four assists and three steals, as well.  Sophomore Tre' Patterson/Richmond had nine points and five assists, while freshman Ryan Jones/Smithfield had seven points and six assists. 

Following this week's big Region 10 home game against Louisburg on Wednesday, Richard Bland will play four more Region 10 home games in Statesman Hall.  The Statesmen will also host Wake Tech (N.C.) on Saturday, Jan. 20, at 3 p.m., in-state rival Patrick Henry on Wednesday, Jan. 24, at 7 p.m., Guilford Tech (N.C.) on Saturday, Jan. 27, at 3 p.m. and the return game against Lenoir on Sunday, Jan. 28, at 3 p.m.  Admission is free to all Richard Bland home games.
