Men's Basketball Participates in Good Sports Program

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, Va. -- The Richard Bland College of William & Mary men's basketball team recently participated with the Junior League of Richmond in their Good Sports program at the Peter Paul Development Center in Richmond.

"We were thrilled to be contacted by The Peter Paul Development Center to kick off their first activity," said head coach Preston Beverly. "Richard Bland has partnered with the Peter Paul Development Center previously and will continue to support the hard work that the men and women who work there do."

Good Sports is a partnership program with the Junior League of Richmond and Peter Paul Development Center that works with young students focusing on Character Counts traits. The program brings in local sports teams and athletes to expose kids to different sports and physical fitness, while providing healthy snacks and meals after school. The Statesmen basketball team helped out one evening session by focusing on responsibility, what responsibility means and ways to be responsible. Following this session, the Statesmen helped students work through five basketball skills drills.
