Men's Basketball Drops High Scoring Game

By Bryant Marks

BRYN MAWR, PA -- On Friday the Richard Bland College men's basketball team entered a high scoring affair with Harcum College in Pennsylvania but could not reel in their third victory of the season, losing 130-83.

The team now falls to 2-3 after the loss on Friday with another game within 24 hours.  At noon Saturday, November 9, the team will match up against Harford Community College out of Maryland again playing at Harcum's gym.  They will look to even up their record after Saturday's game.

Harcum is another NJCAA Div. I program that has had a rich recent history of putting together high-quality basketball teams, as many of their players have even transferred to NCAA Div. I programs. Against Harcum Friday, RBC did not have a clear answer for their opponent's offense.  In a very high scoring contest, the Statesmen even scored their second-most points of the season but also gave up their most points of the season on defense.  Despite a big game from Kenneth Southerland after missing the last contest, the team could not catch up to their opponents.

Leading the Statesmen Friday were Kenneth Southerland with 30 points and 15 rebounds, Corbin Slayton with 16 points, and Mykai Smith with 13 points.
