Richard Bland Competes At Central Carolina (N.C.) Cougar Classic | Freshman Frankie Lin Earns Individual Medalist Honors

SPRING LAKE, N.C. -- Richard Bland College freshman men's golf standout Frankie Lin/Kaohsiung City, Taiwan won his third consecutive tournament, posting a 36-hole score of 77-77--154 to claim medalist honors at the Cougar Classic hosted by Central Carolina (N.C.) Community College Monday and Tuesday at the Anderson Creek Golf Club in Spring Lake, North Carolina. 

The Statesmen competed with three individuals at the event, as Lin was followed by sophomores Sam Smith/Chesterfield (82-82--164) and Zack Almarode/Hendersonville, Tennessee (94-90--184).  Lin, who has three-straight wins and four-straight top five finishes, topped the field of 24 individuals at the 6,672-yard, par 72 layout designed by Davis Love III, while Smith tied for second place.

Richard Bland will play again at the NJCAA District IV Championship on April 24-25 at the Country Club of Brewton in Brewton, Alabama.
