Richard Bland Plays At Cougar Classic / Frankie Lin Is Medalist

SPRING LAKE, N.C. -- Richard Bland College sophomore men's golf standout Frankie Lin/Kaohsiung City, Taiwan posted a round of 73 to finish in first place individually at the Cougar Classic hosted by Central Carolina Community College on Sunday at the Anderson Creek Golf Club in Spring Lake, North Carolina.  The Statesmen competed with three individuals at the 16-player event shortened to 18 holes due to unplayable conditions on Saturday.

Lin earned medalist honors for the first time this year after winning three tournaments as a freshman.  It was his second Top 10 finish during 2017-18, and his third lowest round.  He was followed by freshmen twins Matt Hemstock/Midlothian (81, 3rd) and Alex Hemstock/Midlothian (87, 8th), each posting their respective first collegiate Top 10 efforts.  Anderson Creek GC played 6,712 yards, par 72.

Richard Bland will play again on April 14-15 at the Eagles' Cup hosted by Wake Tech (N.C.) at the Eagle Ridge Golf Club in Garner, North Carolina.
