Richard Bland Plays At Eagles' Cup / Frankie Lin Repeats As Medalist

GARNER, N.C. -- Richard Bland College sophomore men's golf standout Frankie Lin/Kaohsiung City, Taiwan posted a 36-hole score of 73-74--147 to finish in first place individually at the Eagles' Cup hosted by Wake Tech (N.C.) on Saturday and Sunday at the Eagle Ridge Golf Club in Garner, North Carolina.  The Statesmen competed with three individuals at the 25-player event, and Lin took medalist honors for the second-straight year.

Lin won his second consecutive tournament, as well, and now has five collegiate tourney wins, including three events won last year.  It was his third Top 10 finish during 2017-18, and equals his second lowest two-round score.  He was followed by freshmen twins Alex Hemstock/Midlothian (79-82--161, T-12th) and Matt Hemstock/Midlothian (87-74--161, T-12th).  Matt Hemstock matched his low round of the year.  Eagle Ridge GC played 6,904 yards, par 71.

Richard Bland will play again on April 23-24 at the NJCAA District IV Championship at the Duran Golf Club in Melbourne, Florida.
