Richard Bland Completes Season At NJCAA District IV Championship

NJCAA District IV Men's Golf Championship Results

MELBOURNE, Fla. -- Richard Bland College competed at the 2018 NJCAA District IV Men's Golf Championship on Monday and Tuesday at the Duran Golf Club in Melbourne, Florida.  Sophomore Frankie Lin/Kaohsiung City, Taiwan led the Statesmen with a 54-hole score of 77-76-74--227 to finish 21st individually among 53 junior college golfers.  Central Alabama Community College won the team title with its 281-291-301--873, while Caleb O'Toole of CACC earned medalist honors at 68-69-73--210.

Lin posted his season-best for three rounds (227) and was the second-highest finisher from Region 10, behind individual runner-up Justin Morgan of Cape Fear (N.C.) (70-69-74--213).  Lin was followed by freshmen twins Matt Hemstock/Midlothian (75-84-80--239, 44th) and Alex Hemstock/Midlothian (81-82-85--248, 46th).  Matt (239) and Alex (248) each posted their respective collegiate-best scores for 54 holes.  Duran GC played 7,127 yards, par 72.

Richard Bland has completed its 2017-18 men's golf campaign under the direction of second-year head coach Bart Reiten.
