STATESMEN FALL TO #2 NATIONALLY RANKED HURRICANES

Louisburg, NC, September 21, 2013- The Richard Bland Statesmen suffered defeat to nationally ranked Louisburg College Hurricanes 12-1 on the road. The Statesmen fell behind early and struggled against the Hurricanes who scored early and often.

The lone score from the Statesmen trio of Joseph Gay, who scored on a free kick, in which the ball rattled around, off of Dominique Dessaso (from Diego Ona-Rodriguez). Goalkeeper Doug Jackson was busy his afternoon, giving up 13 goals but had 20 saves on the day. The Statesmen will be in action tomorrow Sunday, September 22, 2013 in another regional match against the Lancers of USC-Lancaster at 2:00 p.m.
