STATESMEN BLANK USC LANCASTER

PETERSBRUG, Va. – The Richard Bland College men's soccer team earned an 8-0 victory over conference foe USC Lancaster on Monday afternoon. The win improves the Statesmen to 5-12 on the year while earning Richard Bland its first playoff win in program history.

The Lancers end their season 5-15 on the year.      

Freshman Kameron Smith would put RBC on the board first off an assist from Kevin Fredriksson at the 32:01 mark while freshman Godfred Obed-Baisel would go on to score four goals on the day, scoring three in the first half alone.

The Lancers struggled to get any momentum on offense as they attempted to score just five times during the game. Richard Bland would lead at halftime, 4-0.

As the second half became underway, the Statesmen continued to pound goals in the net as Obed-Baisel scored again and Andrew Piner was credited for the assist.

Kameron Smith, Lawrence Braxton and Kevin Fredriksson all earned a goal in the second half to secure the 8-0 victory over USC Lancaster.

The Statesmen will travel to face #3 Louisburg Community College on Wednesday, Oct. 29th at 4 p.m.
