AXTON, Va., Aug. 28 – The Richard Bland men's soccer team dropped its first game of the season to a strong Patrick Henry Community College team, 3-0, on Saturday evening in Conference X action held at the Smith River Sports Complex.

The Statesmen played the Patriots tough in the first half, trailing only 1-0 at intermission. Richard Bland is now 3-1, 1-1 on the season. Patrick Henry wins its second straight game, and improves to 2-2, 2-0 on the season. 

Richard Bland returns home to Statesmen Field on Monday, August 31, for another important Conference X game against Spartanburg Methodist at 4:00 p.m. Monday's contest is an All-Campus Game with free pizza available for students, faculty and staff. Patrick Henry next hosts University of South Carolina Lancaster, a team Richard Bland defeated 2-0 to open the season, on Sunday at 3:30 p.m.
