Hurricane Matthew Forces Changes To Richard Bland Schedule

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, Va. -- Richard Bland College third-year men's soccer head coach Eduardo de Souza has announced changes to his upcoming schedule, due to the projected forecast of Hurricane Matthew this weekend.

The Statesmen (8-4-1) were scheduled to play road matches on Saturday and Sunday, October 8-9, at USC Salkehatchie and USC Lancaster; however, both contests have been re-scheduled. Richard Bland will now play at USC Lancaster on Thursday, Oct. 13 at 2 p.m. in Lancaster, South Carolina, and at USC Salkehatchie on Sunday, Oct. 16 at 2 p.m. in Allendale, South Carolina.

In addition, Coach de Souza announced that the scheduled road match at Johnson & Wales (N.C.) University on Oct. 15 has been canceled.

Richard Bland has won three-straight contests and posted a 5-1-1 record over its last seven matches. The Statesmen now have four regular season matches remaining before the Region X Conference Tournament begins on Oct. 25. The road contest at USC Lancaster next week (Oct. 13) will begin the stretch run for the squad.
