Richard Bland Falls On The Road At USC Salkehatchie 1-0

ALLENDALE, S.C. -- Richard Bland College dropped a 1-0 Region X Conference road decision at USC Salkehatchie on Sunday afternoon in Allendale, South Carolina. The visiting Statesmen (9-5-1, 6-5-1 Region X) had their recent four-match winning streak stopped against the host Indians (7-8-1, 6-5-1 Region X). Richard Bland will play on the road again at Region X opponent and nationally-ranked No. 8 Louisburg College on Wednesday, October 19, at 4 p.m. in Louisburg, North Carolina.

USC Salkehatchie scored the lone goal of the match about midway through the first half against Richard Bland.

Freshman goalkeeper Justin Ennis/Gainesville started in front of the net for the Statesmen and played the entire 90 minutes, making one save while allowing the one goal.

Richard Bland took an 11-3 advantage in shots at USC Salkehatchie, including 6-2 in attempts on goal. The Statesmen had an 8-0 edge in corner kicks.

Richard Bland is now 6-2-1 in its last nine matches, and will look to return to its winning ways at nationally-ranked and defending NJCAA Division I National Champion Louisburg on Wednesday.
