Richard Bland Up To No. 16 In This Week's NJCAA Division I Poll

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, Va. -- Richard Bland College moved up to No. 16, its highest ranking ever, in this week's NJCAA Division I Men's Soccer Poll, as released Tuesday afternoon.  The Statesmen are ranked for the fourth consecutive week after previously being ranked No. 17 a week ago.  Richard Bland is currently 11-1 overall, including 9-1 in Region X, while enjoying its finest season-to-date.  The Statesmen are scheduled to play on the road at Region X rival Louisburg College tomorrow (Wednesday), October 4, at 4 p.m. in Louisburg, North Carolina.  The Hurricanes (6-3, 6-1) dealt Richard Bland its only setback this season on September 26 at the Statesman Soccer Field, a 2-1 overtime decision that included a pair of penalty-kick goals by the visitors.

Richard Bland was ranked among the Top 20 for the first time in the five-year history of the program on Sept. 12, and remains the only Region X team in the rankings again this week.  St. Louis (Mo.) Community College (13-0) is ranked No. 1 in this week's poll for the second-straight week.
