Men's Soccer Defeat Spartanburg On The Road

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA--The Richard Bland College of William & Mary men's soccer team defeated Spartanburg 3-1 this afternoon at Spartanburg Soccer Field.

With this result, the Statesmen improved to 6-2-1 on the season and came out of a two game defeated streak. The Statesmen will next travel to USC Sumter for a 2pm kickoff on Sunday, October 2nd.

The Statesmen's sophomore Romeo Kayizali scored two quick goals within the first five minutes of game play. Spartanburg scored one right back before the first half ended to make it 2-1. In the second half, freshman Antonio Ferreira made a shot for the goal which bounced off one of Spartanburg's players into their own net for a Statesmen goal. That goal gave the Statesmen a 3-1 lead which is how they ended the game.
