TRACK AND FIELD AT GEORGE MASON UNIVERSITY FOR PATRIOT GAMES

PETERSBURG, Va. – The Richard Bland College men and women's track and field team start 2015 in Fairfax, Va. for the George Mason University Patriot Games. The men's heptathlon is set to begin with the 60-meter dash Friday at 4 p.m. while the women's pentathlon will begin at 4:15 p.m. with the 60-meter high hurdles.

 

The men's heptathlon will begin day two with the 60-meter high hurdles at 9 a.m. Saturday.

On the women's side, Nia Adeeb (Monacan) will compete in the 400-meter dash, Auburn Bex (Warwick) will participate in the 1 mile and Cassandra Nnjia (Falls Church) will compete in the women's shot put.

 

Tia Holmes (Thomas Dale) will represent the Statesmen in the women's long jump, 60-meter dash and 200-meter dash.

 

For the men's, Torry Miller (Monacan) will participate in the shot put, following Nick Williams (New Kent) in the 60-meter dash and 200-meter dash.

 

Also in the 200-meter dash is Antonio Boone (Lakeland), Terrelle Robinson (Patrick Henry) and Andrea McGowan (Hampton Christian). The trio will also represent Richard Bland in the 400-meter dash.

 

Participating schools include American, Catholic University, Coppin State, Delaware State, Essex Community College,  George Mason, Georgetown, Goucher,  Hagerstown Community College, Harcum,  Howard University, Howard Community College, James Madison, Johns Hopkins, La Salle, Lincoln, Lynchburg, Mary Washington, McDaniel, Mount St. Mary's, Navy, Richmond, Roanoke, Salisbury, Seton Hall,  Stevenson, Temple, UMBC, Ursinus, VCU, Wesley, York (Pa.).

 

The rest of the events will begin Saturday morning with the women's long jump finals starting things off in the field events at 10 while the women's 5,000m run will get things started on the track at 10:15 a.m. The men's 4x400m relay finals will conclude the day around 9:20 p.m.
