WASHINGTON PLACES FIFTH IN 200 - METER DASH INDOOR TRACK AND FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – The Richard Bland track and field student-athletes concluded the 2015 National Junior College Athletic Association Indoor Track and Field Championships with a fifth place finished overall in Joshua Washington (Woodbridge, VA) on Saturday, March 7th at the Albuquerque Convention.

 

Washington ran a two heat final to finish second for another All-American status with a time of 21.38 for a fifth place finish overall in the men's 200-meter dash. He finished 20th in the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.82.

 

Thomas Dale High product, Tia Holmes finished the first day 25th in the country in the 60-meter dash but was unable to qualify for finals.

 

South Plains finished in first place for the overall team standings with 136 points, following Central Arizona at 116 and Coffeyville with 55 for a third place finish.
