STATESMEN OPEN OUTDOOR SEASON WITH STRONG PERFORMANCES
RICHMOND, Va. – Richard Bland College men and women's track and field team opened the 2015 spring season on a high note at the VCU Ram Invite over the weekend at the Sports Backers Stadium.
Dallas Tennessee (Lee Davis) took fourth place in the women's long jump (17-6.00), while Evan Wagner (Gloucester, VA) finished tenth in the high jump (4-9.00).
Fredericksburg, Va., native Marcus Finnie won the men's long jump to record a jump of 7.20m and finished ninth in the high jump at 1.75m, while Dominique Revis (Hampton, VA) set a personal-best in the men's triple jump (15.22m) to finish second and Torry Miller (Chesterfield, VA) placed third in the shot put with a throw of 13.51m.
On the track, Woodbridge, Va., native Joshua Washington took third in the 100-meter dash 10.94 and placed sixth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 50.32.
Glen Allen High School product Oliver Smith and Antonio Boone (Suffolk, VA) finished in the 400-meter hurdle with a ninth and tenth place finish at 1:01.23 and 1:06.88.
The Statesmen will return to action March 29 at the Fred Hardy Invitational.
