TRACK AND FIELD HEAD TO CNU INVITE

PETERSBURG, Va. – The Richard Bland College track and field continues outdoor competition this weekend with competitors traveling to the New Captains Classic beginning on Friday at POMOCO Stadium hosted by Christopher Newport University.

Richard Bland will be one of 10 colleges taking part in the competition. Overall 15 Statesmen are currently slated to compete during the meet. Action will begin on Friday with the start of the heptathlon at 12:15 p.m. Saturday will feature a full-slate of events beginning with the long jump at 11 a.m.

 

Entering the meet, Joshua Washington (Woodbridge, VA) leads the way on the men's side as he ranks fourth in the country in the men's 100-meter dash while Tia Holmes (Thomas Dale) look to make a return trip the NJCAA Championships after reaching the nationals during the indoor season for the women.
