FIVE STATESMEN QUALIFY FOR NJCAA DI TRACK & FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS

PETERSBURG, Va. – Five Richard Bland College of William & Mary (RBC) athletes qualified for the National Junior College Athletic Association Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships, which will be held in Hutchinson, Kan. at the Gowans Stadium on May 14-16, 2015.

 

The event will start with the men's combined events at 9 a.m., followed by the women's at 9:30 a.m.

 

On the men's side, All-American Joshua Washington (Woodbridge, VA) will lead the pack in his quest for a national title in the men's 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash. This marks Washington's fourth appearance at Nationals for his career at RBC and currently ranks fifth in the country in the men's 100-meter dash.

 

In their first appearance, Dominique Revis (Hampton, VA) will represent the Statesmen in the triple jump and long jump, Revis is ranked sixth overall in the country in the triple jump, while Marcus Finnie (Fredericksburg, VA) will look to capture a title in the long jump.

 

Thomas Dale High School product Tia Holmes will make her second appearance at Nationals this season as she looks to seek a title in the women's 100-meter dash and long jump, while Evan Wagner (Gloucester, VA) will make her first ever appearance at Nationals in the women's high jump. Wagner ranks 19th overall in the country in the event.
