#10 STATESMEN ROLL OVER EAGLES TO WIN 12th IN A ROW

FUQUAY VARINA, NC, April 12, 2014- The bats were busy on Saturday, and when the dust cleared RBC Statesmen had an 11-8 win over Wake Tech CC in seven innings.

There were 25 hits, including seven extra base hits in the game.

The teams traded runs for most of the contest, leading to seven lead changes in the game.

RBC Statesmen took the lead in the seventh inning and held on for the victory. RBC Statesmen scored on an RBI single by Tara Heatwole off Jennifer Meeks, bringing home Jordan Byrd.

Ayannah Bowman-Williams racked up three RBIs on two hits for RBC Statesmen. She singled in the third inning and doubled in the fourth inning.

RBC Statesmen easily handled Wake Tech CC pitching as six hitters combined for 11 hits, six RBIs and seven runs scored.

The bottom of the third saw Wake Tech CC take an early lead, 1-0. Elisa DeCarolis singled to ignite Wake Tech CC's offense. Sara Dodge singled, scoring Brittany Wayne.

RBC Statesmen pushed across two runs in both the fifth inning and the seventh. In the fifth, RBC Statesmen scored on an RBI triple by Krysten Davis, bringing home Mary Latham.

It didn't take long for Wake Tech CC to answer as it scored seven runs of its own in the fifth. Wake Tech CC scored on an RBI single by Alexis Hamel, a walk by Paige Anderson, an RBI single by Tara Gehring, a walk by Jennifer, a fielder's choice, and an RBI single by Brittany Wayne.

Game Two

Fourth-inning rally sparks blowout win for Richard Bland, 7-0

RBC Statesmen rolled over Wake Tech CC 7-0 on Saturday after a five-run rally in the fourth inning.

Amberly Alston put herself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for RBC Statesmen. She doubled in the fourth and fifth innings.

RBC Statesmen's Tara Heatwole kept Wake Tech CC off the scoreboard for all seven innings she was on the rubber. She pitched a shutout, allowing no runs on three hits while striking out three.

Jennifer Meeks couldn't get it done in the circle for Wake Tech CC, taking a loss. She allowed seven runs in seven innings, walked two and struck out two.

RBC Statesmen tacked on another two runs in the fifth. A ground out scoredKrysten Davis to get RBC Statesmen on the board in the inning. That was followed up by Rebecca Condrey's single, scoring Alston.
