SB HEADS TO REGION X TOURNAMENT THURSDAY, STATESMEN WILL FACE WINNER OF GAME ONE

PETERSBURG, Va. – The Richard Bland College softball team will begin play at the Region X DII Softball Tournament on Friday, May 1st at 12 p.m. The Statesmen enter the tournament as the number one seed and will take on the winner of the first game of the day at 10 a.m. between Florence-Darlington Tech Community College and Wake Technical Community College.
Although the first game is scheduled for 10 a.m., there may be some games pushed back at Springwood Park in an attempt to avoid inclement weather anticipated in the area and provide the best possible conditions for championship play.
The winner of the second round will play again at 4 p.m. while the loser will face elimination at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
The Statesmen enter the contest with a 29-10 overall record. The Statesmen have defeated the Lady Eagles and the Lady Stingers twice this season to combine for an 8-0 overall record.
