JORDAN BYRD SIGNS WITH WILLIAM PEACE UNIVERSITY

PETERSBURG, Va. – Jordan Byrd, Richard Bland College graduate and former outfielder has officially committed to attend William Peace University in Raleigh, NC, this fall to further her softball career.

"Jordan helped start Richard Bland College's women's softball program and contributed to the success of where it is now," said head coach Martha Covington. "I watched her improve and help take RBC to two regular-season championships titles and I'm excited that she is now moving to next level.

William Peace University is a member of the USA South Athletic Conference where Byrd will join the Pacers under leadership of Charlie Dobbins. The Pacers finished 23-15 overall and 15-7 in the USA South.

The Thomas Dale High School product played in 47 games in two seasons, she had 38 hits, seven doubles, three triples and totaled five runs scored this past season.

Byrd received her Associate Degree with honors from Richard Bland on May 16.
