Richard Bland Places Four Individuals On 2017 All-Region 10 Teams

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, Va. -- Richard Bland College placed four individuals on the 2017 All-Region 10 Softball Team, including freshmen Brooklynn Bilyard/Culpeper and Taylor Daniel/Alberta, each selected to the All-Region 10 First Team, along with sophomore Tabby Dabney/Mechanicsville and freshman Kay'Lee Justice/Suffolk, each named to the All-Region 10 Second Team.  The All-Region selections are voted upon by the head coaches within the region.

Bilyard was voted to the First Team as both an outfielder and a pitcher.  At the plate, she has hit .411 with five home runs, one triple and 12 doubles, scoring 33 runs with 40 RBIs and nine stolen bases.  Bilyard adds a .670 slugging percentage, a .452 on base percentage and a .978 fielding percentage.  In the circle, she is 7-2 with a 3.22 earned run average and 73 strikeouts over 67.1 innings with six complete games and four shutouts in 19 appearances, including 11 starts and two saves.

Daniel was voted to the First Team as an infielder.  She has hit .426 with one triple and seven doubles, scoring 41 runs with 20 RBIs and five stolen bases.  Daniel adds a .493 slugging percentage, a .466 on base percentage and a .921 fielding percentage.

Dabney was voted to the Second Team as a utility player at first base and pitching.  At the plate, she has hit .447 with nine home runs, one triple and 16 doubles, scoring 45 runs with 50 RBIs and five stolen bases.  Dabney adds a .766 slugging percentage, a .500 on base percentage and a .963 fielding percentage.  In the circle, she is 5-6 with a 4.44 ERA and 44 strikeouts over 71.0 innings with five complete games in 18 appearances, including 13 starts.

Justice was voted to the Second Team as an infielder.  She has hit .408 with seven home runs, three triples and 14 doubles, scoring 40 runs with 43 RBIs and two stolen bases.  Justice adds a .736 slugging percentage, a .490 on base percentage and an .804 fielding percentage.

Pitt (N.C.) Community College freshman infielder Taylor Carroll was selected as the Region 10 Player of the Year, Patrick Henry Community College freshman Holly Scearce was chosen as the Pitcher of the Year, while Pitt CC head coach Jennie Harp was named the Region 10 Coach of the Year.
