RALEIGH, N.C. -- Richard Bland College posted a 36-hole team score of 431-425--856 to win the Wake Tech Eagles' Cup Women's Golf Tournament Saturday and Sunday at the Eagle Ridge Golf Club in Raleigh, North Carolina.  Freshman Kenedi Byard/Chesterfield led the Statesmen with her two-day score of 86-93--179 to claim medalist honors among nine individuals at the par 71, 5,725-yard layout.  Ironically, Byard had tied for first during the 27-hole (85-44--129) Eagles' Cup event last September 17-18.

Byard was followed by sophomore Anna Carole Cole/Halifax (91-92--183), along with sophomores Savannah Porter/Midlothian (104-110--214) and Taylor Pope/Disputanta (150-130--280).  Cole posted three birdies during her final round, including back-to-back on holes two and three.

Richard Bland will play again at the Central Carolina (N.C.) Community College Cougar Classic April 3-4 at the Anderson Creek Golf Course in Spring Lake, North Carolina.
