BRASELTON, Ga. -- Richard Bland College freshman Kenedi Byard/Chesterfield posted a 72-hole score of 99-100-97-93--389, and sophomore Anna Carole Cole/Halifax posted a four-round score of 92-95-105-99--391, at the 2017 NJCAA Women's Golf Championship Monday through Thursday at the Château Élan Golf Club in Braselton, Georgia.  Byard tied for 100th, and Cole finished 103rd, among the 119 individuals competing at the 6,109-yard, par 71 layout located approximately 50 miles northeast of Atlanta.

Byard was playing in her first national tournament, and averaged 97.3 per round throughout the event.  Her final-round 93 was her best round of the week, and she had two birdies and eight pars over the four days.  Cole, who advanced to the national tournament last year, as well, averaged 97.8 per round this week for an improvement of 9.2 strokes per round from the shorter 54-hole championship a year ago (321, 106th).  Her first-round 92 was her best round, and she finished with one birdie and 10 pars this week.

Daytona State (Fla.) College won the NJCAA Women's Golf Team Championship with its 300-294-296-301--1191, and Sena Orsoy of Iowa Western Community College was the individual medalist (champion) with her 75-72-72-74--293.
