Spencer Carries Women's Soccer to Another Victory

LOUISBURG, NC  – Once again, first-year player Alexia Spencer landed four goals for the Statesmen, leading the Richard Bland College of William & Mary women's soccer team to a hard-fought 4-0 victory over Louisburg College in Louisburg, North Carolina on Tuesday, October 15.

The away game success improves RBC to 5-5-1 on the season, while Louisburg dips to 1-4-1. The Statesmen will next play Washington Adventist University on Willcox Field on Thursday, October 24, at 2 p.m.

Going into the first half of the game, after tension back and forth on the field, Spencer finally scored the first goal or the Statesmen, assisted by Bethany Ferguson. This was followed by another goal from  Spencer with an assist by Alexis Belemu. Not backing down, the Statesmen held this score for the first half. After halftime, Georganna Dowdy worked with Spencer to lock down the Statesmen's third goal. Approaching the end of the game, Spencer brought the Statesmen to their final score of 4-0, unassisted.

"I could not be more excited for our girls as we continue through the season," said assistant women's soccer coach Meghan Mauzy.
